This machine has been built from 1986 until 1989, with a total of about 470 built.
In 1989, after the factory went bankrupt, the cooperative built another 70 Atlas'. They had all new designed sidepanels rear mudguard etc., also hydraulic clutch and two oil coolers under the petrol tank instead of one under the headlamp on the first model.
They were sold Switzerland and some to Belgium.
My thanks go to Robert van der Breggen from the Netherlands for supplying me with the below pictures of his bikes :-)
The one in the top pictures (red) was bought in Switzerland with only 5200km on the counter and the owner has driven another 41000km on it without any trouble.

This spring the Robert sold his Atlas to Mike Waugh of Montydons, Humberside, UK. Robert then came across a few Atlas' in Belgium at a dealer, who wanted to sell the lot for a reasonable price. One was a 1989 so he's still the lucky owner of a very rare Laverda.

The above bike, owned by Ralph Allen is fitted with an early Jota 180 engine (as shown by the left hand engine casing).
