After their recent success at the Jersey Festival, Hackney's youngsters were brought down to earth by a determined Islington side on Saturday.
A late goal was enough to win the McKee Challenge Cup for the visitors after Hackney had been sadly off-target with a succession of first-half chances.
Hackney contininued to force more of the goalmouth action after the interval but were frustrated by a solid rearguard performance by Islington who always looked capable of grabbing a winner on the break.
Their chance duly arrived when a neat mid-field passing movement put HARRY POINTIONG clear and his twenty yard finish gave Hackney 'keeper Thomas no
chance.
