In the first of an occasional series, The Hackney captain writes about the October half term training camp at Kench Hill Educational Centre in Kent

CAPTAIN'S LOG 2000

It has been a great honour to captain Hackney for the first four games of the season.
We won one game 5-2 but lost the others, 4-0, 4-0 and 5-1.

I play at right-back which is a good position to captain from because I can see everyone in front of me and beside me.
I think I have improved 100% training with Hackney and so has everyone else. We have learnt how to play short places, long passes, calling for the ball, learning everyone's names, tackling and behaving!

At half-term, we went to Kench Hill. We arrived on Thursday after a long drive. We went into the house with our luggage. We went straight into the lounge and met a lady called Claire who was in charge.
We also met Heather and Janet who helped us as well.

After a long chat we sorted out our rooms and I was in room 2 with Shane, Anthony, Nathaniel, Ben and Anthony.
We soon went for training at the local school field and practised short passes and finding space. Then we came back for dinner. I was the table monitor and had to clean up the table.
We had a quiz and watched a football video, had a drink and biscuit and went to bed.

After breakfast next morning, we went training again and learnt about jockeying, passing with a partner and then had a training match.
After lunch, we had a rest and then went swimming.

On Saturday, we played Bexley on the way home but lost 5-1.See report atBexley
Soon we were back in Hackney and were glad to see our families.
