KAY TROPHY
Played at Victoria Park on Saturday 11th November 2000
TOWER HAMLETS Under 11's 1, HACKNEY Under 11's 1.
Hackney employed a direct approach to counter Tower Hamlets' fluent passing style at Victoria Park and the result was a point for each side.
The home side played with the wind behind them in the first half, but it was Hackney's bustling striker ANTHONY OSEI-ROACH who featured first latching on to a through ball to put his side ahead after seven minutes.
Tower Hamlets responded swiftly with a well-worked goal from the right and Hackney's defence was then fully stretched to keep their opponents at bay.
Cantekin and McIntyre showed composure and craft in mid-field as Hackney won a series of corners in the second period, but Hamlets twice took play to the other end with some quality passing. However, neither side could find a vital cutting edge and the game finished all square.
