KAY TROPHY
PLayed at Douglas Eyre Sports Centre on Saturday 3rd March 2001
Hackney Under 11's 1, Wandsworth U.11's 1.
Midfielder JOHN YILMAZ was Hackney's saviour when he hit a last minute goal to salvage a Kay Trophy point at Douglas Eyre.
Yilmaz seized his chance when he worked his way into space twenty-five yards out and sent an unstoppable drive high into the net.
Earlier, speedy Wandsworth had taken the lead when a short free kick produced a fierce cross-shot which flew beyond goalkeeper Thomas.
Hackney hit back with some incisive passing featuring between Atherley-Buckridge, Langsdon and McIntyre but their strikers' finishing was sadly wayward until Yilmaz found the target.
Hackney Under 11's: Thomas, Edun (Holmleigh), Atherley-Buckridge, Capt., (St. John of Jerusalem), Thomas, Osei-Roach (Orchard), Osei-Poku (St.
Thomas's),
McIntyre (Baden Powell), Langsdon (Grazebrook), Yilmaz (Millfields), Williams-Sabaroche (Tyssen), Gordon (Daubeney).
