SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL -OCS Sponsored KAY TROPHY
Played at Douglas Eyre on 3rd November 2001
Hackney Under 11's 5, Bermondsey under 11's 0.
The pace and finishing power of Hackney twin strikers, KARMAH DUBERRY and MARCUS SIMON proved too much for visiting Bermondsey as the home side earned three valuable points in the OCS Sponsored Kay Trophy.
The two youngsters claimed two goals each in the first-half after Bermondsey had seized the early initiative with a series of corners.
But Hackney's mid-fielders soon gained the ascendancy and the creative probings of Fagan, Marks and Thomas set up goals for Duberry (2) and Simon as the home side raced into a three-goal lead.
Simon then added his second swooping on a loose ball after the goalkeeper failed to hold Swaby's twenty-yard drive.
Duberry completed a splendid hat-trick after the interval with an angled shot, but the south Londoners defence then held firm and on a rare attack, they were awarded a penalty which was fired wide.
