LESTER FINCH TROPHY
Hackney Under 11s 1 Haringey Under 11s 2.
Haringey just about maintained their 100% record in the Finch Trophy but only after Hackney had given them their hardest game of the season.
The visitors took a third minute lead after breaking swiftly from their own half but Hackney, playing with the wind behind them, began to put their passing game together and levelled after some fine interplay between McCredie, Cogekcici and Lewis resulted in a perfect low cross for BRADY MARKS to slide the ball home.
Haringey quickly established control in the second-half with mid-fielder Fyffe in outstanding form but resolute defending from Hackney and two finger-tip saves from goalkeeper Sampson kept them at bay until ten minutes from time when a long through ball was converted from close range.
Even then, Hackney looked capable of saving a point with some swift forward movements involving DuBerry, Doody and Carlo Thomas but it was Rushmore School marksman Tashan Lewis who went closest with a twenty-five yard cross-shot which just failed to elude the visitors' goalkeeper.
