INTER-DISTRICT MATCH
HACKNEY UNDER 11'S 0, HAVERNING UNDER 11'S 3.
Hackney matched high-flying Havering in most areas of the field throughout this encounter at Douglas Eyre but defensive lapses allowed the visitors to strike three times and achieve a slightly flattering score-line.
A strong wind gave Havering a first-half advantage but Hackney's defence stood firm until five minutes from the break when the Essex side pounced on a loose ball to score. Goalkeeper Samspon then saved well to give Hackney hope in the second period, but his side gave the ball away from the kick-off for Havering to double their lead The visitors then cauhgt the home defence napping when they added a third from a quickly-taken free-kick.
Hackney still looked capable to reducing the arrears with some swift inter-passing on the right but efforts from Simon and DuBerry were narrowly wide.
