SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL - INTER DISTRICT MATCH
Played at Orpington on 13th October 2001
Orpington Under 11's 4, Hackney Under 11's 2.
This game was settled in a ten-minute spell following half-time when Orpington profited from Hackney's lack of concentration to score three times.
Until then, Hackney had enjoyed slightly the better of the exchanges and had seen a penalty brilliantly saved.
They now faced a huge task to get back into the game but a crisp passing movement was rounded off by GARY MOORE from close range and the pacey MARCUS SIMON added a second when he followed up Handovsky's drive which the home goalkeeper could only parry.
A Hackney equaliser looked likely as they pressed forward but a defensive lapse allowed the Kent side to make the game safe with a fourth goal in the closing minutes.
