Hackney 'A' began slowly and soon found themselves two goals down to Woolwich. A sharper second-half performance, however, brought a goal from GREG MOORSE-MacDOUGALL but this was not enough to avoid defeat.
Hackney then gained a deserved victory against a physically strong Wandsworth side with a second-half strike from MARC JAMES, but the tables were then turned as Woolwich, who only needed a point against Wandsworth to guarantee Hackney a semi-final spot, fell to two goals in the last minute after leading 2-1 and with all three teams finishing with the same points, Woolwich and Wandsworth went through on the number of goals scored.
Hackney 'B' faced stiff opposition and performed heroically to gain 0-0 draw with South London and Islington, who were the eventual winners of the competition, but then slipped out of the semi-final places with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Bermondsey.
