SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL - CRISP SHIELD - ROUND ONE
Played at Croydon 2nd November 2002
CROYDON UNDER 11'S 3, HACKNEY UNDER 11's 1
ANTHONY SASA put Hackney back into this match with an explosive strike fifteen minutes from time after Croydon had taken a two-goal half-time lead, but Hackney' s come- back ended there as home side sealed victory with a third goal in the final minutes.
Earlier, Hackney had played their best football of the season with Fallah dominating in mid-field and Sasa using his pace to create chances, but static defending had twice let in the clinical Croydon forwards for close-range goals.
Moorse-MacDougall and Olugu both went close before the interval, but Hackney's second-half revival owed much to a tenacious mid-field performance from Marc James.
It was James who won the ball in mid-field to set up Sasa for an unstoppable fifteen-yard drive, but Hackney could not find another decisive strike as Croydon progressed to the second round.
