SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL -
CRISP SHIELD - FINAL
Played at Grays Athletic F.C. on Saturday 8th April 2000

HACKNEY Under 11's 1, NEWHAM Under 11's 2.
Hackney led 1-0 at half-time in their bid to capture the Crisp Shield for the first time but Newham hit back with two second-half goals to lift the trophy for the third consecutive year.

Hackney looked the more composed side in the early stages and deservedly went ahead when CHRISTIAN ASIEDU swept the ball home from eighteen yards after ten minutes.

The game developed into a tight-mid-field battle with Smyth and Clifton working hard to overcome the superior physical strength of the opposition. Agdomar found space on the right but his crosses eluded the Hackney forwards while Clifton's twenty-yarder was well held by the 'keeper.

Newham found new strength after the interval and quickly levelled from close range. It was now their turn to call the tune and a looping effort from forty yards just cleared the bar.

The decisive goal came ten minutes from time when a high cross shot could only be palmed into the net by Guktekin.

Hackney still had chances to level. A cross-shot from Marriott-Dixon went close and then the same player beat three players on the left before setting up Asiedu only for the tall striker to fire over the bar from eight yards.

Hackney Under 11's: Gultekin (Woodberry Down), Kates ( Millfields), Ozomusi (Benthal), Drew (Gayhurst), Bingham (Baden Powell), Agdomar (Tyssen), Smyth (William Patten), Clifton (Princess May), Stokes (Gainsborough), Martiott-Dixon (St. Matthias), Asiedu (Holy Trinity) Sub. Smith (Tyssen).

* Hackney Under 11's leave on Saturday for the English Schools' F.A. Jersey Festival. They will play six matches during the week-long Festival which features district associations from all over the country.
* The Kay Trophy Final between Hackney Under 11's and Tower Hamlets will take place at the Douglas Eyre Sports Centre, Coppermill Lane, E17, on Saturday 6th May, kick-off 10.30a.m.
