Hackney Schools' under-11s had the perfect start to their season as striker Marlon Marriott-Dixon scored twice to send them on their way to victory over Thurrock Schools

St Matthias pupil Marriot-Dixon struck after just 10 minutes and Hackney doubled their advantage before the break with a second goal from Anton Agdomar of Tyssen Primary School.

The Essex side immediately pulled a goal back and Hackney had a spell under pressure before Marriott-Dixon scored his second goal to make the result safe.
