Title: Reliable Box Location for Wessex Water |
||
Wessex Water has recently chosen the new Protovale IMP® Box Locator as their first line method for detecting stop taps, valve boxes and inspection covers. The purchase of 19 instruments is to replace standard metal detectors that have proved to be unreliable and prone to give false finds from items such as metallic litter.
Commenting on the new purchase and use of the IMP®, Ian Ryan from Wessex Water, said:
“In the Somerset Depot we have been using the original Protovale IMP® Locator for nearly 15 years so we knew that Protovale would be up to the job. We have now chosen the new IMP® for all the Wessex Water regions both for day-to-day operational use and for emergency call-out.
The new IMP® Box Locator has been specifically designed for the water industry and can reliably detect down to 95cm while ignoring metallic litter. It is not affected by moisture, temperature changes and can be used close to parked cars and chain linked fences. Weatherproofed to IP54 the instrument is easy to use with only one control knob, a clear audible signal and a bright LED display for noisy environments. Users can quickly and accurately establish location, size and shape of the target object. |
