The value of a fine grade woodland mulch at planting time, to conserve moisture & discourage weeds cannot be overstated. The dark mulch has the added benefits of improving the appearance of border areas and warming the soil early each year. When pulled into the soil in later years by earthworms the mulch will act as a soil conditioner by adding humus as the shrubs grow.

Correct preparation of the borders before application is essential
