Councillors on Medway Council: Interests to be declared
Declarations of Interest: Pecuniary
If any member of the Committee, Cabinet or Council that is meeting has any pecuniary interest in any item that is to be discussed during the meeting, whether substantive or non-substantive, that interest is to be declared at this point in the proceedings.
Depending on the circumstances, the member may be required to leave the meeting for the duration of that item's discussion and decision, or might be able to participate in the discussion but not vote.
This requirement is a provision of Section 94 of the Local Government Act 1972.
