Jordan Oliver Woodhouse : "A little man with a big heart"

(13th August 2000 - 16th February 2001)

Jordan's work for the Lord lasted just six months, during which time he made a greater impact (around the world!) than many evangelists make in six decades! During his illness of the liver (resulting in a successful transplant operation) and influenza, he showed he was a real "toughie", fighting all the way, accepting his situation and treatment without complaint.

All the while, his parents (Paul and Ruth) were truly outstanding in the way they coped with the anguish and uncertainty, even spending time with others in their exceptional ministry. What faith and such commitment! What tremendous examples are Paul and Ruth of the power of the Holy Spirit!

The prayer circle that was originally set up by our Major grew to a world-spanning network to which news of Jordan's situation was sent out at least once a day, usually two or three times per day, including via the wonderful medium of email.

We all prayed for Jordan to be healed, and we became his extended family in effect. Now Jordan has received perfect healing and he is with our Lord Jesus and will never hurt or suffer again.

I and the others involved are so grateful to God for Jordan's remarkable life, and for his ministry (in which he uttered not a word!) that reminded us of the true power of prayer and how we are all loved by the Lord.

Now we take our own lives forward, enriched with those blessings.

Photographs of Jordan's dedication at the Chatham Salvation Army Citadel can be found here.
