I don‘t know what to make of this Lady who now lives with us. One minute we‘re getting along fine, sniffing each other‘s noses, the next I find I‘m being chased and attacked with claws and everything. It isn‘t all that vicious, but it‘s certainly disconcerting, and I just don‘t know where I stand any more.
And what a glutton! John sometimes calls her "Miss Piggy" and I can easily see why. Still, there are things I like that Lady doesn‘t so I get some treats all to myself, especially pork which turns out to be my very favourite food, and salmon, lamb and steak at other times.
John is away from the house even more than before, not only at night now (and I thought it was us cats who were supposed to be nocturnal, not Humans) but also during the day on many occasions: he tells me he‘s "going canvassing" whatever that means. I haven‘t seen him take any canvas with him, so I‘m rather puzzled by this claim—still, he has never been untruthful to me before, so I shall just have to take him on trust. This cat-friendly fellow called Ron keeps visiting at these times, but he‘s okay and can come round any time!
He also goes out on Sunday evenings, and sometimes this starts as early as 4 pm when the route goes through a place called Upchurch where he apparently goes past the house of our former neighbours.
The weather here has been bad a lot of the time, but we have had some good days so I am looking forward to being able to snooze in my usual favourite places outdoors (you probably saw the photos of me in some of these) and warm my fur˜it feels so good in the sun!
Summer will even make having Lady around tolerable.
More "tails" to tell next time.
