Lady has gone! This is great news for me, as we never really got on and Lady tormented me when John wasn’t looking, and sometimes even when he was.
I hear that her new home is very good and is really cat-friendly, so that’s all right.
John’s work means that he goes out at night five times in a row, then misses out the next two days. This he tells me is a week altogether. It is a bit strange to see him go out at night, but at least he comes home in the middle of this time away although only for a very short time—what the humans call half an hour.
He also goes out at a lot of other times, he says for “Council business”, whatever that might be. This has happened even more often in recent times, but I hope this doesn’t go on too long.
On the catering front, we have been sharing even more since Lady left, and my favourites are pork, turkey, salmon and fillet steak. John says that I have expensive tastes, but that doesn’t seem to stop us having several such treats to share every week. This week (a special week called Christmas week, John says) we have shared turkey, pork, lamb and smoked salmon.
The weather has been really bad for some time now, what with wind and rain—often both at once—most of the last two or more months (to use another human word for a time-period) and this makes it difficult for me when I need to go outside. I stand in the doorway waiting for a good moment to pop out, but John says it’s too cold to leave the door open so he sometimes shoos me out before I’m really ready.
I like to stay out for a while to check out my territory, but it is just too cold, wet or blowy to remain outdoors, so I sometimes come back inside sooner than I might wish. Oh well, at least the good weather should be back with us before too long.
In the next issue there will be more in “purr-int” from me.
