Corroding wall ties cause serious problems in the construction industry. In response to demand from major construction companies and housing associations, Protovale has worked closely with the industry to develop the Imp Wall Tie Locator.

The Imp rapidly locates mild and galvanized steel wall ties with pinpoint accuracy. Due to its unique pulse induction technology the Imp remains immune to moisture and temperature changes.

Two versions

Choose from the Mild Steel Wall Tie Kit or the Dual-Purpose Kit which also locates phosphor-bronze and some types of stainless steel wall ties.

The field from a 4" search coil passes along the length of a magnetic (mild steel, galvanised) wall tie to locate it.

The field from a 6S search coil is arranged to strike the surface of a non-magnetic (stainless-steel) wall tie to induce the eddy currents.
