Welcome to the web pages which are the home of the Mighty Greens.
The club plays in the North West Hockey League and currently has just one mens team. If anyone out there would like to add themselves to the squad,or simply send us a message, please do contact us via email, marking your message for the attention of KHC.
What can we say here? This has been a terrific season, the camaraderie and spirit in the team reached extraordinary heights, we played some wonderful hockey and achieved our best ever finish in the league. We also managed to get the name of Kendal on the Cumbria Cup for the first time. So, in celebration of all that we have a few pictures to end the season.
And now for the individuals. Pick your own favourite....
Those who know the squad from this season will realise we are working gradually from the back to the front.
There are slightly different instructions in the County handbooks- those instructions take you through the centre of the town which can take a long time on Saturdays.

All games are now played on the astro turf pitch at Queen Katherine School, Appleby Road, Kendal. Directions can be found at the foot of this page.
League matches are usually on Saturdays with a 2.30 pm start. For away games the team meets at the west end of Parkside Road, the time of meeting depending on the distance we have to travel. This year may even include some Friday evening departures as we have two games in Wales. Honestly.
We have continued and even strengthened our links with the incomparable Castle Inn who have provided our after match hospitality for several seasons. They continue to do so and to help us out with our finances the handsome landlord Geoff and his lovely lady are providing the food as sponsorship! Do not fail to visit this excellent hostelry whenever you are in Kendal.

The men who controlled the midfeild, Phil and Rob. (notice I have avoided using the word "big" here, although this is probably the place where it is most appropriate.)
This really is finally......

Leave M6 at Junction 36 and join the dual carriageway following signs to Kendal and Windermere.
After about 8 miles you will come to the turn off for Kendal(South).
On a Saturday at peak time it is best to ignore this and stay on the dual carriageway, bypassing the town.
You will come down a long hill to a roundabout.
Take the third exit from this, effectively doubling back on yourself.
(Take care as it is not truly a roundabout and after the second exit you must give way to traffic coming from Windermere.)
As you come down the hill in to Kendal you will pass a large cream painted pub on your left, the Union Tavern. This is not important except to confirm that you are in the right place.
Shortly after the pub you will come to a pedestrian crossing and will briefly enter the town centre one way system.
You will cross over the River Kent and then pass a BP petrol station.
Stay in the left hand lane, passing under the railway bridge and take the next right by the Duke of Cumberland pub.
The school is about 400 yards along this road on the left hand side.
Take the fourth and last gate in to the school grounds.
Pitch and changing rooms are round the back.
