Being a bit of a Shakespeare fan anyway, there was no way I was not going to see this film - the thought of Radiohead in stereo cinema sound was just too good to miss! Apart from a great script (cheers, bill) and soundtrack, I'm sure the fact that it was full of attractive young things was a major part of the film's success. However, pretty as he is, Mr DiCaprio is just not my cup of tea - sorry Leo, i'm sure you're heartbroken

I would be very surprised if anyone here needed a plot summary - a quick rummage in your parents' bookshelves should reveal a mammoth leather-bound Complete Works even if your literary tastes don't stretch quite that far - so I shan't bother. Bizarre as it was at first to see Shakespeare being spoken by American teenagers in jeans and Hawaiian shirts, by the end of the film it seemed perfectly natural. So much so, in fact, that in the middle seeing Shakespeare In Love recently I wondered why they were dressed as though they lived in the Middle Ages or something. Until it clicked. And then I felt very silly........
