Councillor on Medway Council

John's photograph
This is the front page for various resources that I have provided concerning the political aspects of Medway Council, including its members, wards, meetings and agendas, and a range of other material.

Apologies for the delay in getting the last couple of days' updates put on the site: the site's host has had major technical problems and this was not possible until today (Tuesday). I am currently preparing to create a mirror site at another host, and once this is ready I shall provide links from each copy of the site to the other, as one or the other should always be completely up to date.

Not all possible information is included, as I have been requested to omit the details of one political group. Now, although this is all public factual information and there is no technical, legal or moral reason not to include everything I intended to place here, in the interest of promoting harmony and goodwill I have complied with that group's wishes. The only exception would be if that group or one of its members is mentioned in an agenda paper or other official document that appears here.

The subjects covered here are split into two groups—the Council in general, and ward-specific pages for the Horsted ward. Most of these are non-party political, even though they are about political matters. None of the Council-wide pages, and only a few of the ward-specific pages (Issues, Newsletters, John's Jottings) can be considered to have a party political emphasis.

Latest News! Council Tax rises by 8·6%

To protect and improve front-line services in the face of stealth taxes from central government a rise of 8·6% is needed—still the lowest increase in Kent. This was agreed at Council on 28th February 2002.

Now, here are the Council-wide pages:

Now for the Horsted ward-specific pages:
