The Protovale Borehole Probe

Constr.

Tendon Duct Locator

A new breakthrough for the construction industry

Drilling deeply into concrete can be a risky business. Hitting rebars, pre-stressing or post-tensioned tendons is not only costly, it's dangerous. But until now, locating tendon ducts beneath layers of reinforcement has been extremely difficult and imprecise.

The new Protovale Probe is the first instrument that lets you detect rebars or tendon ducts behind layer after layer of rebar mesh. Unlike other detectors, the Probe lets you search both sideways and forwards while also measuring the distance of the target from the Probe tip. The result is pinpoint accuracy with a minimum number of bore holes.

The Probe also helps position anodes when installing cathodic protection.

Reduces unnecessary boreholes

Significantly reduce abortive bore-hole drilling that costs time and money.

Drill faster

Drill with confidence knowing you're safe from hitting metal.

Protect drills and steel reinforcement

The Probe warns you before you hit metal, reducing damage to both drills and reinforcement.

Install anodes accurately

Use the Probe to install anodes away from steel reinforcement.

Rugged enough for the toughest sites

Sturdy construction and calibrated fibreglass shaft to measure depth drilled.
