    Drilling into rebars can be an expensive business -- trying to avoid them can be time-consuming.
    Anybody working with reinforced concrete needs to know quickly and accurately where the rebars are to avoid damaging the drill, leaving unsightly abortive holes or weakening the reinforced structure.
    Protovale's Imp Rebar Locator and Rebar Plus are here to help, using the very latest pulse induction technology to locate rebars or welded mesh fabric precisely and reliably.
    And since they are not affected by moisture, temperature changes or electrical interference, both instruments are extremely stable even under the most arduous site conditions.

    To make your job easier

    Both the Rebar Locator and the Rebar Plus give a loud audible signal when the exact location of the rebar has been found, making it easier to mark the position of the bar without the need for constant dial-watching.
    Both distinguish between horizontal and vertical bars.
    Both use a controlled field, so can operate near scaffolding or other large metal masses.

    Rebar Plus additional features

    High quality colour-coded meter scaled for the precise location of rebars, an indication of the depth of cover, and the battery state.
    Control panel switch for moving between low (10mm to 80mm) and high (50mm to 140mm) ranges.

 60mm spacing at up to 35mm cover            8mm diameter: 120mm
 75mm spacing at up to 55mm cover           16mm diameter: 140mm
150mm spacing at up to 90mm cover           32mm diameter: 160mm
    The Rebar Plus will accept an optional 6S head.
    This increases the detection range for a 40mm bar to 200mm on the high range.

    The Rebar Plus is the ideal "host electronics" for the Borehole Probe Tendon Duct Locator.

    The Rebar Plus was not designed as a cover meter but it can give an indication of the depth of cover. The depth scales are calibrated for direct reading of 16mm bars at mid-life battery voltage, with scale markings at centimetre and half-cm intervals.
    Extremes of battery voltage cause up to ¼cm error on the Lo scale. Variations in bar diameter from 16mm may change the indicated cover by about 6% per bar size.
